The Difference between Consultants and Guides

Video Blog

In this week’s video blog our expert guide, Don Hadley, discusses the difference between consultants and guides.

Let’s start with the definition of consultants:  “People who provide expert advice professionally.” (from Merriam Webster)  They then tell you what you need to do and then leave.

Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a guide as “a person who leads or directs other people on a journey.”

The next time you are wondering if you should hire a consultant or if you have had bad experiences with consultants in the past, ask the following questions and then give us a call.

  • What could we improve upon if we had a guide to help navigate?
  • Does your organization have tools and methods to track and measure improvements, sales, financials, and forecast for the future?
  • Have you worked with a consultant previously and had a partnership with them?

If you need help navigating this treacherous business world and thriving for a better tomorrow, or if you would like to receive a copy of our Hiring Trusted Advisors Case Study, give Candace a call at 800-786-4332 or email her  CClemmer@AppliedVisionWorks.com.  Your success is in plain sight.  It just takes determination and action and only takes 30 minutes to get started!
